Food and Hospitality Teacher – Secondary School

Permanent Fulltime Position

۲ʿ is seeking a dynamic and passionate teacher of Food and Hospitality to join the teaching team in January 2025. This is a unique opportunity to teach in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built Food and Hospitality Centre, designed to encourage and support both students and teachers in achieving excellence.

۲ʿ is a welcoming, caring, Christ-centred learning community where students grow, flourish and are inspired to make a difference. We are an R-12 coeducational independent school located in the beautiful city of Mt Gambier. Applicants must be supportive of the Christian ethos of the College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive Food Technology lessons to students in Years 7 to 10.
  • Teach SACE Stage 1 and 2 Food and Hospitality, preparing students for success in their assessments and future careers.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore and develop their skills in food and hospitality.
  • Utilise design thinking and technologies to guide students in generating and producing innovative solutions within the Australian Curriculum areas of food and fibre production and food specialisation.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the South Australian Teachers’ Registration Board, including a working with children check.
  • A demonstrated passion for the development and promotion of Food and Hospitality education.
  • Strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) protocols within a kitchen setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Conditions:

This position will be ongoing and fulltime from January 2025.

The College seeks expressions of interest from people interested in casual work in our canteen.

We require people with the flexibility to fill vacant shifts on short notice and who have a current (or be willing to obtain) Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment within South Australia. These positions are entirely casual with no guarantee or expectation of regular employment.

The College is seeking expressions of interest from people interested in casual work in our Front and Ark (Secondary School) Offices. This would ideally suit someone with the flexibility to fill vacant shifts at short notice. This position is casual with no guarantee or expectation of regular employment.
